Reward for helping !

As we all know and as mentioned in the previous post that Rajdhani train caught fire in 3 wagons, though none of the passengers were badly injured. And this was made possible by the pantry workers in the train as they rushed to help people in the wagons and inform them about the incident and detached the wagons of the train so that the overall harm and devastation could be reduced.
For doing such a remarkable help and shoiwng a true example of bravery, the train employees were given mere Rs. 3000. Which implies 333.33 Rs/- per employee as there were in all 9 employees.
The passengeres were given Rs. 5000 each
And And And the worldcup winners were given milions of Rs.
This can happen only here in India that saviour is not given anything rather the one saved is still given some. PPssstttt

Akon concert - A success in Delhi and Gurgaon

After the Bryan Adamns concert failure , Delhi got what they needed and for what they were despartely waiting for, the success of akon concert speaks it all. yet again proved that no one can beat them when it comes to partying.

Even Akon himself screamed at a crowd of over 2000 "Delhi you guys are the party animals"
A large part of the rapper’s performance involved gimmicks — from  singing inside a zorb-ball and crowd surfing, to splashing 20 bottles of water into screaming fans.

The rapper got everyone grooving to songs such as Smack That, Don’t Matter and Party Animal. At one point he stripped off his shirt and jumped into the crowd, calling on fans to take off their shirts too.
Seeing the energy of India, Akon wants to come back next year " “India is like my second home. I think I’ll be buying a house here. We’re also planning a vacation in India, let’s see,” he says. Completing his desi-connection for the night, was his wife Rosina, who wore lehenga-choli. He says he plans to don a desi-avatar too. “Yeah, I’ll wear something Indian soon.”

India Rocks !!!

Infy in trouble !

Infosys' profit in the three months has gone down by a fair level. NSE and BSE both 317 points down.

Increasing competition with TCS, the biggest software exporter in India, and other companies is also increasing churn rate. Attrition in the fourth quarter was 17% compared with 13.4% a year ago, Infosys said. The goal of senior executive empowerment is laudable, but multiple responsibilities for business heads might be causing under-performance in some areas.
Infosys has lagged behind peers in some emerging and growing businesses. In many of the emerging areas, such as infra management, testing services and BPO, Infosys has lagged behind TCS in terms of revenue growth. Infosys's infra management top line grew by only 13.6% in CY10, compared to 39.5% for TCS, while BPO services grew by 17% compared to 23% for TCS. The one area in which Infosys has done particularly well is enterprise solutions.

The first Jan LokPal bill meeting help today - Thank-You Anna Hazare

The joint drafting committee of the Lokpal Bill met for the first time in New Delhi today, exactly a week after social activist Anna Hazare ended his four-day hunger strike after the government gave in to most of his demands.
The meeting started at around 11:30 am and went on for almost two-and-a-half hours.

"The meeting was fruitful, everyone made valuable contribution. We all want the Bill to be introduced in the Monsoon Session," Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal told reporters after the meeting.

The 10-member joint committee met at North Block and discussed the procedures to be followed for drafting of the anti-graft bill.

Mr Sibal said both sides presented their perspective on the proposed legislation. The latest draft presented by the civil society representatives had "significant" proposals, he added. He said the committee would discuss the draft provided by the activists along with the draft cleared by the Standing Committee which would be circulated
The meeting was chaired by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee. Other panel members who attended the meeting include Home Minister P Chidambaram, Law Minister Veerappa Moily, Water Resources Minister Salman Khursheed, former Law Minister Shanti Bhushan (co-chairman), Anna Hazare, eminent lawyer Prashant Bhushan, Karnataka Lokayukta Santosh Hegde and RTI activist Arvind Kejriwal.

The panel will next meet on May 2 to decide on the modality of public consultations on the legislation, Mr Sibal said.

Anna Hazare, who led the campaign that forced the government to agree to the constitution of the joint committee, said the meeting went off well. "It is because of you we achieved this success," he told reporters.

Today's meeting took place in the shadow of a CD controversy allegedly involving panel co-chairman Shanti Bhushan.

"The all new Ford Fiesta is here in India"

Things finally are falling into place with Ford for their Indian operations. The reason behind the same is that Ford have adopted their “One Ford” campaign in India as well. The new 2011 Ford Fiesta that we have in India here is the same one that is available all over the world now. Mind you, this car comes with some rave reviews especially in Europe. I believe that we are the first ones to go in for the test drive of this brilliant vehicle. A review for the same would follow on later for the 2011 Ford Fiesta in India.
First about the looks. Well, it is not similar to the Fiesta available in India now. If anyone tells you that both are same, then just slap them and ask them what similarity do they see, other than the Blue Oval logo. “Kinetic Design” philosophy that Ford speaks about, has been adopted in this car. The head lamps are shaped in the form of an Arabian dagger whereas the nose of this car resembles the one from the older generation Ford Focus. The gaping grille with those chrome accented fog lamps in the bumper reek of a class which was unfound in the previous Ford Fiesta version. The wing mirrors carry the turn indicators on them and the 15 inch wheels add a dash of spice to the design. The rear slopes much like in a coupe and blends seamlessly into the well sculpted boot. Speaking of the boot, it resembles the Kammback one from the Toyota Prius or more so like the Honda FCX Clarity. In Europe, Ford sell the hatchback version of the Fiesta with the same nose. The tail lamps are split by the chunky looking boot lid and the reflectors find their way to the lower bumper. The tail pipe unfortunately is hidden from view. Ever seen Ken Block going on doing his antics? If yes, then the car you have seen is most probably the Ford Fiesta hatchback.

Like the radical exteriors, the interiors have also changed very much. Gone is the staid flat look found inside the old Fiesta and in comes a Civic rivaling space age interiors. The first time, I saw it, I felt like it was actually the interiors of the Ford F150 truck. It is so lavish. There is the Sync like system which Ford affords to give to its American customers. Sync is basically the pairing of the Bluetooth with the phone’s. First the steering wheel. It is a small contoured unit and much like the one found in the Honda Civic. It has now got steering mounted controls. Though the steering felt a bit in my face, it was adjustable and finding the correct position wasn’t a problem. Moreover the front seats were extremely supportive and viola, now I also have a dead pedal. Upon touching the surface of the dashboard, a soft German kind of feeling was creeping up on me but then that immediately vanished once I got to touch the lower door pads and below the dashboard. Those materials felt cheap and hard. The 2011 Ford Fiesta in India now gets the automatic climate control, a wonderful single CD changer music system which has got the go to match the show and also various other features. The wing shaped central console would take any one’s fantasy. The hooded instrument binnacle would feature in next after the Honda Civic’s for its desirability factor. There is a multi information display between the two hoods and on the central portion of the dashboard, a large display screen provides for various other information. Unfortunately there aren’t too many storage spaces and what I felt was a case of “form taking over function”. Cut to the rear seat and here too you would be disappointed as the 2011 Ford Fiesta in India hasn’t rectified its predecessor’s weak point. The new Ford Fiesta provides for better seating materials but taller passengers like me would be hard pressed to find more head room as also leg room. Boot space is at par with the competition.
From the short drive I had with this car, it seems that the new class bench mark in India as far as the ride and handling parameter goes, would be the new 2011 Ford Fiesta. The delightful steering wheel tickled me to no end with its perfect feel at the city and highway speeds. It is electronically assisted as well. The car’s suspension is tuned to be on the softer side however the chassis is what makes all the difference here. It is borrowed from the Mazda 2 platform and is called the B2E in company speak. Mazda cars are said to be as enjoyable as BMWs in North America. The chassis is made up of higher tensile steel and Boron. However the chassis is overall light in construction and this reflects in the short drive that I had. The suspension soaks up everything thrown in its path. NVH is well damped but after nearing the 5,000 rpm mark, the Ford lets out a raspy note

As far as the engine configurations are go, the 2011 Ford Fiesta in India would get two new engines. It is also said that the existing engines wouldn’t be offered for the new Fiesta. The variant that I had with me had a 1.6 liter petrol engine, the same one which is in the Fiesta S version. It now makes 120 Bhp of peak power and is mated with a 5 speed manual transmission. The reason for the increase in power is by the use of variable valve timing. The diesel version is rumored to be a 1.6 liter motor producing 90 Bhp. It will also have a 5 speed manual transmission. An automatic is also said to be on the anvil. The manual gear box is super responsive as also is the 1.6 petrol engine. I couldn’t time the runs that I had in the car but expect 0-100 kmph times of 10 seconds or even lesser. Top speed would also be in the region of 180 kmph. Brake feel however left a lot to be desired. The soft pedal feel doesn’t go down well with the car’s performance. Discs at front coupled with drums at the rear, EBD and ABS handle the braking department. Height adjustable seat belts with pretensioners, 2 air bags, collapsible steering wheel and side intrusion beams complete the set of safety features in this car. As far as fuel efficiency goes, expect the new Fiesta to return around 12 kmpl in city and 16 kmpl on the highway with crude oil running through its engine.

Sri Lankan cricketers asked to leave IPL early !

COLOMBO: Sri Lankan cricketers participating in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) have been asked to return home early to prepare for the national team's tour of England that gets underway on May 14.

Ten Sri Lankan cricketers are contracted to various franchises, of which two of them are being led by Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene, the islanders' two senior most players.

The Sri Lankans are scheduled to leave for England on May 10, and the IPL-contracted players have been requested to return home at least by May 5 to prepare for the tour.

The IPL ends on the May 28. "On a recommendation made by the national selection committee I have instructed the secretary of the board to inform the players to return by at least the 5th of May to prepare for the tour," Sri Lanka's sports minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage said on Tuesday.

"When contracted players of Sri Lanka Cricket represent other tournaments, they should make sure that their priority lies with the national team and this will be strictly adhered to in the future," Aluthgamage added.

The move by the Sri Lankan government is in complete contrast to the one that was taken three years ago when it cancelled a tour of England in 2009 to allow the players participate in the hugely popular Twenty20 league, which had started in 2008.

The government's decision at that time attracted severe criticism from both the media as well as several former players, including 1996 World Cup-winning skipper Arjuna Ranatunga.

Besides Deccan Chargers skipper Sangakkara and Kochi Tuskers Kerala captain Jayawardene, Suraj Randiv, Nuwan Kulasekara, Muttiah Muralitharan, Thisara Perera, Lasith Malinga, Dilhara Fernando, Tilakaratne Dilshan and Nuwan Pradeep are some of the Sri Lankan players involved in the fourth season of the IPL.
